Kewpie Group’s Q&B Foods Opens New Condiments Plant in Clarksville, Tennessee

May 23, 2025
The new plant is the company’s second facility in the U.S. and is producing mayonnaise and dressings for the Midwest and East Coast.

Japanese condiments company Kewpie Corp. announced the opening of its new Q&B Foods Inc. condiments processing plant in Clarksville, Tenn.

Q&B is a Kewpie group company headquartered in Irwindale, Calif., and this new Tennessee facility is the company’s second in the U.S. (the first location is in California). The facility will produce mayonnaise and dressings for both household and commercial use, distributed to customers in the Midwest and on the East Coast, the company noted.

The Tennessee plant spans about 161,500 sq. ft. and will be capable of producing more than 66,000 tons of product annually.

Kewpie expects the Tennessee facility to help it meet growing demand but also open more markets and greater brand penetration in the U.S. It includes the first visitor area for the Kewpie Group in the U.S., creating a point of contact for customers and fans of the brand — though the visitor area is not yet opened, nor was an expected date known at the time of this article publishing).

The company held an official opening ceremony May 20, 2025, at which Mitsuru Takamiya, representative director, president and chief executive corporate officer for Kewpie Corp., noted that the plant was expected to serve all of North and South America eventually, with expansions down the road expected.

Tokyo, Japan-based Kewpie Corp. is a global food manufacturer that was founded in 1919 and is known for its mayonnaise, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year in Japan.
